The Grumpy Old Men edged out the Jets 4-2 in a close game. Alex and Zaha played very well in net with Alex recording the shutout. Gandalf led the teachers with a hat-trick including a spectactular unassisted goal. The Hammer added the other goal for the Grumpy Old Men. Jets' snipers Jackson and Brian added goals in the second half to close the gap. The Grumpy Old Men were happy that Puppetman didn't 'accidentally' pass the puck to the Jets during the game. Rumour has it that the short-handed teachers team dedicated the game to the absent Stonewall and Steamboiler.

Crisis of Confidence in the Grumpy Old Men Camp.
The Grumpy Old Men face severe challenges with the continued absence of several key members to the lineup, along with the impending sale of one of their key assets to Toronto. Stonewall's absence in goal has been problematic along with the team's distrust of Puppetman's antics. "We don't know what team he's on," said one disgruntled team member, "You just can't pass him the puck and trust he'll do the right thing with it."
The team is also annoyed that their games are mere exhibitions. "We could win the whole league," said the Hammer, "We are just that good, despite our problems."
